George Furniss sadly passed away on May 13th at the age of 80. George was married to his wife Sally for 52 years and was a great father to their sons Guy and Josh and was much loved by his three grandchildren. George was an enthusiastic supporter of Winscombe RFC, a Vice President who regularly attended the VP lunches and could often be found on the touchline enjoying a beverage from the 502 bar be it beer or wine or sometimes both!! George was a well known vet in the community and also loved sailing out of Plymouth along the south coast and occasionally to France with several WRFC elders as crew. He was also a keen farmer and lover of life, a real character who will be sadly missed. RIP George.
George's funeral service will be held at
St James Church, Winscombe,
on
Friday June 19th June
at 12.30pm
and afterwards at the Woodborough Inn, Winscombe.
Due to the limited parking near the church a shuttle bus will be running from the Recreation Ground car park.
