Winscombe RFC

61 - 5

(HT 49-5)

Swindon RFC

Winscombe 1sts entertained Swindon at the weekend for the first time in the club's history and executed a nine try demolition of their Tribute Severn visitors.

Centre Sam Dearsley was the first to cross the line, converting his own try and going on to convert eight others.

Jim Rutherford, appearing for the 200th time in a first team shirt, was next to score following a flowing move down the left flank.

There were further tries for Winscombe captain Adam Scrase, centre Harry Brean, hooker Rich Priddice and fly-half Ollie Walrond before half-time with Swindon scoring a consolation try just before the break.

Playing down the slope in the second period Winscombe continued to exert pressure and were rewarded with a penalty try before Walrond ran in his second and full-back Harry Power crossed to seal a much needed win that sees Winscombe move above their visitors in the table.

Winscombe travel to Drybrook this weekend and will face a much sterner test.
